Chucking it away

1 min read

I played the live short handed round of each cash game at Loose Cannon last night, and twice I threw away highly promising positions to end up down £60 for the session.

I was playing very nicely and had built my £100 stack up to about £600 when I imploded. One thing I have to admit, is that I seem to win every single race against the Baron at the moment. I’m sure this will turn, so I need to take advantage of it while the going is good.

Anyhow - at £600 I get AA and Jody calls my re-raise with his 8T, and I end up doubling up his £150 stack when he flops two pair on an innocuous flop.

Pretty much very next hand, I 2 barrel bluff AJ against Jody on a low flop, and am forced to call off his last £50 on a 6965 board. Jody has 67 so am drawing dead…sigh…down to about £100.

I build back up again to £350ish, and then having not learned my lesson the first time, blow it away even more spectacularly. Jody in the meantime has been whittled down to £200 or so.

I raise UTG with to £3, and Honest Dave makes it £9 in the small blind. Jody makes it £35 in the big blind and I rashly elect to 4 bet my monster hand all in. Jody ums and arrs and then the slow rolling mo-fo calls with KK ;) I lose the “race”. Unfortunately at that point I threw my toys out of the pram at the perceived slowroll and decided to leave for the night without even cashing out. This was pretty uncharacteristic of me, and I apologised to Jody this morning, as well as Shazbo, whose head I also bit off when I got home :(

Ah well…£60 down for the night - should have been another profit, but stupidity unfortunately got in the way.
