Relax..........the poker is coming
I haven’t played live or online since December 20th, which is the longest break I’ve had for about two years. Hopefully the break will have done me good, but I am itching to get back into action, and have some decent live events lined up for next week:
Monday: International £60 Round of Each
Thursday: Loose Cannon £50 League Night
Saturday: International £100 Deepstack
The Saturday International tournament above is the self proclaimed “best tournament in London”, with an 8k starting stack, 30 minute clock and 30/40 runners. I haven’t played it yet, but the structure looks really good for a £100 event, so it might become a regular on my calender.
I’ve also put together a skeleton schedule for the first half of 2009 as follows:
January: Nothing of note
February: Dusk Till Dawn (Nottingham), monthly festival
March: The International London Masters
April: Irish Open, Dublin
May: UKPT, Newcastle
June: WSOP, Las Vegas
Plenty of big events to look forward to, and there would still be some of the yearly bankroll left over for other adventures. However, to a large extent, the second half of the year’s schedule will be dependent on results.
It feels like the start of the football season - optimism for the new year abounds irrespective of dodgy previous form. I’ve simplified my P&L somewhat and converted to GBP. Time to focus…here we go.
